How we hire

The hiring process is an opportunity for us to get to know you, and for you to get to know WeWork. Learn what to expect from the first moment you think about applying all the way to your first day.

What will make my application stand out?

The best way to ensure your application stands out is to apply to the position that most aligns with your skills and experience. Our recruiters are on a mission to pair the best candidates with the right position.

How do I apply?

Once you’ve found your ideal position, you can use the “Apply” button to submit your application. You will then receive an email confirming that your information has been received.

What happens after my application is submitted?

While we’d love to engage with everyone personally, we’re only able to speak with applicants who closely match the requirements for each job. If you are selected for an interview, a recruiter will contact you and outline the next steps. In case your application wasn’t successful this time, you may still be contacted about other opportunities that align with your profile or interests.

How many jobs can I apply for? Can I re-apply for the same position?

While there is no limit to the number of applications you can submit, we recommend that you apply for the position that best aligns with your experience. If you’ve previously applied to a role, you’re welcome to submit a new application for consideration.

I know someone at WeWork. Can I list them as my referrer when I apply?

We’re thrilled to hear you know someone at WeWork! There’s no field for you to list your referrer on our application. Instead, if your WeWork contact can vouch for you professionally, please reach out to them and ask them to submit your resume for consideration through our formal referral program.

I’m interested in a specific team, but they’re not hiring right now. What should I do?

We welcome you to sign up for our talent community at the bottom of the page and set your “area of interest” to the team you’d like to apply for. As a member of the talent community, you will receive bi-weekly job alerts aligned to your interest and you’ll be notified when the team is hiring again.

I submitted an application. Why haven’t I heard back?

Our recruiters do their best to review applications in a timely manner. Due to high-volume interest in certain positions, it may take several weeks for the recruiter or hiring manager to review applications. We appreciate your patience during this process.

What does the recruitment process look like?

Our recruitment process starts with a recruiter interview likely followed by two or three rounds of conversations with the hiring manager(s) and the team. This might include a combination of phone, video, and in-person interviews. In the event that an in-person interview is not feasible, we will schedule a video call.

What can I expect during my interview with the recruiter?

Our interview process typically begins with a conversation between you and a member of our talent acquisition team. The recruiter will tell you about WeWork, the role you applied for, additional details about the team, and answer any questions you may have.

How can I best prepare for my interview with the team?

We encourage you to familiarize yourself with our values, our mission, and our business in addition to the responsibilities of the role you’re interviewing for.

During your interview, you’ll talk about your interests, skills, and experience, as well as what value you think you’ll bring to the team. Be sure to have examples of how you’ve solved problems, created impact, and driven change. We want to hear your story and learn about both what you’ve done and what you want to do.

Will I have an in-person interview?

While we would love to meet you in-person, safety is our number one priority for our employees, our members, and our candidates—like you! Each of our global locations have different requirements, so our in-person interview availability will vary by location. We use video conferencing as an alternative for a significant amount of our interviews and meetings, so rest assured that this should not impact the overall interviewing process. We are excited to connect with you!

If you do have an in-person interview, we will meet you in one of our common spaces or a more private conference room. You’ll meet with one or more members of our team and we’ll do our best to keep the day running on schedule. If you have any questions during your visit, you should feel free to ask your recruiter or one of the interviewers.

What should I wear to my interview?

At WeWork, we want you to be your authentic self. You’ll find most employees dressed “smart casual” and we welcome you to dress in a way that expresses who you are and makes you comfortable.

When will I hear back from the team after my interview?

Our recruiters and hiring managers do their best to regroup in a timely manner after an interview. As you may be considered alongside other applicants, it can take about a week for our teams to decide on next steps. We appreciate your patience during this process.

What is the process for requesting a reasonable accommodation for the application or interview process?

WeWork is committed to providing reasonable accommodations for qualified individuals with disabilities. If you need an accommodation related to accessing our website or completing the application process, please complete this form. If you need an accommodation related to the interview process, please speak with your recruiter.

What should I expect after I receive and accept an offer?

Congratulations! After accepting your offer, we will reach out to you with additional details about onboarding, orientation, and your first day. We will set you up with the tools to help you be successful as you get started.

What does the onboarding process look like?

Before your first day, you will be asked to complete onboarding tasks in Workday, our HR system. On your first day, your manager will welcome you to the company and introduce you to the rest of your team. Throughout your first week, you will have a handful of orientation sessions with new employees from around the world, in addition to the meetings your manager schedules with the team and relevant stakeholders.

Will I have the opportunity to work from different WeWork buildings or remotely?

As a company we value flexibility—not only for our members, but also for our employees. As a WeWork employee, you’ll have access to our buildings world-wide. Certain roles do have location requirements, and we encourage you to talk to your manager for additional information.

How does WeWork live their mission and values?

We pride ourselves on living our mission and values in every interaction. We welcome you to learn more about how we do this on our “About Us,” “Our Culture,” and “Inclusion & Diversity” pages.
